MajorGeeks has listed a new item with seeming potential called
Hitman Pro 3.0.0.2760 Beta. I downloaded for installation but
was dismayed to find that [as far as I dared to permit] it depended
entirely on a malware database located online .. and not one which
might be downloaded and updated like other similar programs.

Perhaps someone else among you might be adventurous enough to
research this and report back. I am not so trusting as to allow my
firewall to contact this database everytime I want to use the program.

I think Hitman is a front end for various other programs?

Yeah, saw that too. I went and checked out their site. Given the
following statement, I tagged Hitman Pro 3 as crippleware:

"Hitman Pro 3 is no longer completely free for unlimited use. Scanning
with Hitman Pro 3 is always free. To remove malicious files after
scanning you first need to activate Hitman Pro 3. It is important for
you but for others in your network as well, to do this as soon as
possible. Therefore you can activate and remove threats for free for the
first 30 days."

17. Are there any Signature conventions?
=========================================================================
The following advice is the generally accepted netiquette in regards to
signatures. Please keep your signatures as concise as possible because
people do not appreciate having to pay to continually download them
every time they view one of your posts. 3 or 4 lines is usually plenty.
Long signatures are definitely frowned upon, as is drawings, pictures
and other graphics in your signature. Including such material in your
signature is considered as extremely rude by other readers and you
invite a barrage of nasty posts by including them.
